LG Polls: Engr Ridwan Elemosho Canvasses Support For Kwara PDP

A strong advocate and member of the major opposition party (PDP), Engr Ridwan Elemosho PDP has canvassed for the party ahead of the September 21st LG polls in the state.

In a press statement made available to the media, the Ifelodun born Engr said the past five years have been a period of unfulfilled promises and misrule in Kwara State, with the APC-led administration failing to deliver on its campaign promises. The state has been plagued by insecurity, underdevelopment, and a lack of accountability, leaving residents frustrated and disillusioned.

“One of the most glaring failures of the APC administration is its inability to conduct local government elections, denying communities the opportunity to choose their leaders and hold them accountable. This has led to a lack of representation and a sense of disconnection between the government and the people” the statement added.

Security has deteriorated significantly in Kwara State, with kidnapping and armed robbery on the rise. Residents live in fear, and the government seems powerless to stop it. Development has been focused solely on the state capital, neglecting rural areas where most residents live. This has led to a lack of infrastructure, jobs, and opportunities, further exacerbating the state’s economic woes.

He canvassed support for the party’s candidates in the upcoming local government elections, promising a new generation of leaders committed to development.

The PDP has presented fresh and innovative candidates who understand the challenges facing the state and have the vision and expertise to lead Kwara to prosperity.

Elemosho urged Kwarans to be cautious of failed politicians who have defected to the APC, warning that they will fail the state again if given the chance. “We must not be deceived by those who have failed us before,” he said. “We need fresh faces, new ideas, and a new approach to governance.”

Under the PDP, local governments will be transformed into hubs of development, innovation, and progress. The party has promised to focus on creating jobs, improving infrastructure, and empowering communities. “We will make sure that our local governments are accountable, transparent, and responsive to the needs of our people,” Elemosho said.

Elemosho urged Kwarans to take back their local governments by electing PDP candidates who will work tirelessly to develop their communities. “We must take back our state from those who have failed us,” he said. “We must elect leaders who will put our interests first and work to build a brighter future for our state.”

The upcoming local government elections present an opportunity for Kwarans to effect change and demand better from their leaders. Will they seize this opportunity, or will they continue to suffer under the APC’s misrule? Only time will tell.
