Otunba Biodun Ajiboye, Executive Secretary of the National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO), was honored by Rotary International’s District 9111 with an Award of Appreciation for his service to humanity on Thursday, October 3, 2024.

The award presentation was part of the Public Image Seminar, themed “Integrated Marketing Communications Strategy as Magic for Public Image Promotion in Rotary,” held at Keystone Bank Hall of Fame, Rotary Centre, Ikeja, Lagos.

As Chairman of the occasion, Otunba Ajiboye, represented by Ms. Victoria Overo, Head of Lagos Liaison Office, emphasized the seminar’s apt theme. He noted that Integrated Marketing Communications plays a vital role in transforming public image through seamless storytelling, building bridges, fostering connections, and nurturing relationships. Achieving this, he added, requires trust – the glue that binds employers, employees, partners, stakeholders, customers, and end-users of particular brands.

Keynote Speaker Lanre Adisa, CEO of Noah’s Ark Communications and President of the Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria (AAAN), defined Integrated Marketing Communications as combining various communication tools to deliver a unified message and impact customer perceptions and behavior. Despite Rotary International’s charitable efforts, particularly in Polio Eradication, Adisa argued that its visibility lags behind the Bill Gates Foundation. To address this, he urged Rotary International to leverage all communication channels, including social and new media, to share its story and showcase its impact.
