Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State has appointed Umar Farouk Ibrahim as the new Secretary to the State Government (SSG), with the appointment set to take effect on Monday, February 10.
The announcement was made in a statement released on Saturday by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Dawakin-Tofa.
Ibrahim, a seasoned public servant, brings over 30 years of experience in civil service to his new role. His extensive career, which spanned from 1987 to 2023, includes several key leadership positions that have played a significant role in shaping Kano State’s governance and administrative systems.
According to Dawakin-Tofa, Ibrahim’s dedication and service have earned him the trust and confidence of the state’s leadership.
“He has served as secretary for numerous high-profile committees and has been instrumental in driving community and educational reforms,” he stated.
Ibrahim holds a degree in Political Science from Ahmadu Bello University, obtained in 1985, along with multiple professional certifications that underscore his administrative expertise.
As a retired Permanent Secretary, Ibrahim is expected to bring strategic vision, strong leadership, and a commitment to excellence to his new position. His appointment is considered a strategic effort to enhance the state’s administrative structure and support the effective implementation of government policies and programs.
