••• Congratulates Comr. Eshiofune Paul Oghayan On Election as President and stands firm against the illegal factional activities.
The National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS) has elected Comr. Bamidele Victor Timothy as its new Public Relations Officer (PRO)-Elect.
Timothy, in a press statement, expressed gratitude to delegates, stakeholders, and comrades for their overwhelming support, leading to his emergence at the NAPS National Convention in Minna, Niger State.
“I pledge to serve with integrity, transparency, and a deep commitment to projecting the image of NAPS positively across Nigeria and beyond,” Timothy said.
He also congratulated Comr. Eshiofune Paul Oghayan on his election as President, describing his emergence as a testament to the trust students have in his leadership capacity.
However, Timothy denounced and dissociated himself from a factional group that announced him as an Ex-Officio member without his knowledge or consent. He described the act as “disrespectful” and “undermining” to NAPS’ democratic process and integrity.
Timothy called on the Department of State Services (DSS) and other security agencies to investigate and clamp down on impostors attempting to destabilize NAPS’ unity and exploit its platform for selfish interests.
As PRO-Elect, Timothy made seven key pledges to the Nigerian Polytechnic Students’ community, including upholding NAPS’ integrity, effective communication, media engagement, rebranding, defending students’ rights, building partnerships, and zero tolerance for impostors.
Seven-Point Agenda for NAPS
- Upholding NAPS’ Integrity: Ensuring the association’s image is projected with professionalism, transparency, and accountability.
- Effective Communication: Establishing clear channels of communication between NAPS leadership, students, and the public.
- Media Engagement and Advocacy: Promoting NAPS activities, achievements, and advocacy efforts through reputable media outlets.
- Rebranding NAPS: Reflecting the vibrant spirit of Nigerian polytechnic students and showcasing their contributions to national development.
- Defending Students’ Rights: Standing against injustice, oppression, or marginalization of Nigerian students.
- Building Partnerships: Fostering strategic partnerships with organizations, stakeholders, and international bodies to create opportunities for Nigerian polytechnic students.
- Zero Tolerance for Impostors: Relentlessly exposing and confronting individuals or groups attempting to tarnish NAPS’ image through illegal activities.
NAPS remains an association founded on the principles of truth, justice, and advocacy for the Nigerian polytechnic community. Let us continue to stand united against any form of illegality, impersonation, and division.
Aluta Continua! Victoria Ascerta!
Long Live NAPS!
Long Live the Federal Republic of Nigeria!
Signed:
Comr. Bamidele Victor Timothy
