The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has honored renowned philanthropist, Engr. Sunday Babalola Adebayo, for his diligent service. The event, held at the NAF Center in Abuja, drew dignitaries from across the nation.
NANS President, Comrade Olushola Oladoja, described Engr. Adebayo as a worthy ambassador who has showcased due diligence through his philanthropic gestures.
Engr. Adebayo, represented by Mr. John Kehinde Salako, expressed gratitude for the honor and emphasized the importance of leadership, vision, and integrity.
In his remarks, Engr. Adebayo urged NANS leaders to amplify student voices, address pressing needs, and foster a culture of excellence. He encouraged students to remain steadfast in their support for the Comrade Oladoja-led NANS and to work towards building a brighter future for Nigeria.
Engr. Adebayo also praised the current administration, led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as the most youth-friendly administration Nigeria has ever had. He urged the students to embark on their journey with hope, determination, and a commitment to the ideals of their great nation.
“This momentous occasion, no doubt , is a remarkable symbol of our collective commitment to welfare, unity, and progress. As leaders, you are duty-bound to amplify student voices, address their pressing needs and foster a culture of excellence among them” He said.
He added that as a representative of fellow students, NANS should ensure her mission be a construct that thrives on the tripod of promoting academic excellence, social justice, and student rights while charging them to work tirelessly to ensure that your actions and inactions are a true reflection of the aspirations of all Nigerian students.
“As leaders, I urge you to lead with vision, integrity, compassion, and passion. Harness your collective energy to drive the positive change required to build a brighter future and more prosperity for our dear nation, Nigeria” He added.
To the critical mass of students, whose active participation, constructive engagement, and unflinching support birthed the memorable journey we are embarking upon today, I encourage you to remain steadfast in your all-round support for the Comrade Oladoja-led NANS. With your creative and innovative collaboration, I have no doubt in me that what is worth describing beyond the boundary of greatness is attainable.
Finally, I urge you to embark on this journey with hope, determination, spirited tenacity, intelligent contestation of ideas, and a commitment to the ideals of our great nation. You are indeed lucky to assume this important responsibility under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the most youth-friendly administration Nigeria has ever had, He concludes.
