Tinubu Swears In Saliu Mustapha’s Ally Into National Assembly Service Commission



President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has sworn in Alhaji Salihu Umar Agboola-Balogun, a trusted ally of Senator Saliu Mustapha of Kwara Central, as a member of the National Assembly Service Commission (NASC).

Agboola-Balogun, a respected Ilorin-born educationist and retired principal, hails from the Gambari royal dynasty and once served as the Kwara State Secretary of the All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPPS).

He is among the 12 members appointed by the President to serve on the Commission for a renewable term of five years. The appointment was announced in a statement issued Tuesday by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy.

The swearing-in ceremony, which was held at the Council Chambers of the State House, Abuja, in two segments, was followed immediately by the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting.

The newly appointed Chairman of the Commission is Dr. Saviour Enyiekere, a former Deputy Chief of Staff to the Senate President and an environmental specialist.

The full list of NASC appointees includes:

North-West: Suleiman Othman Hunkuyi, Hon. Yusuf A. Yusuf Tabuka
North-East: Aminu Ibrahim Malle, Alhaji Lawan Maina Mahmud
North-Central: Mark Hanmation Tersoo, Salihu Umar Agboola-Balogun
South-West: Hon. Taiwo Olukemi Oluga, Hon. Afeez Ipeza-Balogun
South-East: Hon. Dr. Nnanna Uzor Kalu, Festus Ifesinachi Odii
South-South: Patrick A. Giwa, Mrs. Mary Ekpenyong
