The monarch’s commendation, delivered in a personal statement on Tuesday, hailed Governor AbdulRazaq as the “best among all Governors the State has produced over the years.”

Oba Kamorudeen praised AbdulRazaq’s strategic initiatives and human-friendly policies, which he believes have solidified the trust and belief of Kwara’s populace in his leadership.

The monarch’s statement, brimming with praise, read:

“Your Excellency, on the occasion of your sixth year anniversary in office as the Executive Governor of our dear State, Kwara State, I joined thousands of well-wishers, both home and abroad, to celebrate your outstanding achievements and repositioning of our state as a role model in the North Central region.”

He specifically highlighted the governor’s impact on infrastructural development, noting the Urban Renewal Project that has significantly improved communities with quality road networks, thereby enhancing the overall urban landscape.

Oba Kamorudeen also lauded the governor’s innovative smart city projects, designed to accommodate 540,000 residents with a mix of residential, commercial, industrial, and recreational facilities, describing it as “one of a kind in the North Central region and worthy of emulation.”

The Olowu further acknowledged the governor’s significant strides in economic and financial reforms, which have strengthened public financial management systems, fostering greater transparency and accountability.

“Your Excellency, we also acknowledge that your achievements cut across recruiting teachers to enhance education quality, standardizing academic calendars for primary and secondary schools, and prioritizing healthcare access for all residents, and recruiting health professionals to bolster public healthcare delivery within the state,” the statement added.

The monarch also recognized the administration’s commitment to social welfare and community development, evidenced by the regular payment of salaries and pensions, palliative payments to workers affected by fuel subsidy removal, and support for local government initiatives in education and other vital sectors.

Oba Kamorudeen also pointed to the administration’s investment in sports development through the renovation of sports facilities, which has significantly contributed to the success of the state’s sports commission. This, he noted, has led to Kwara athletes winning laurels and recognition in various competitions, showcasing the governor’s “commitment to nurturing sporting talent.”

Describing Governor AbdulRazaq as an “angelic person sent to the people of Kwara in human form,” the revered monarch praised his leadership acumen and his ability to unite progressive forces towards ensuring shared dividends of democracy. He acknowledged the indelible mark left across the state, even with two years remaining in his current tenure.

Oba Kamorudeen highlighted Governor AbdulRazaq’s appointment as the Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) as a testament to the positive trajectory of the state, bringing Kwara to a point of envy within the North Central region and across the federation.
