To further boost food security and enhance rural prosperity, Senator Sadiq Suleiman Umar, representing Kwara North, has launched a comprehensive agricultural empowerment programme across the five local government areas under his senatorial district.
The initiative, which is a part of the Senator’s ongoing efforts to support the agricultural policies of both the Federal and Kwara State governments, saw the distribution of vital farming inputs and equipment to constituents.
At a coordinated handover ceremony, APC Chairmen from each of the five local governments – Kaiama, Moro, Baruten, Edu, and Patigi – received a wide array of materials for onward distribution. The donated items included essential resources such as fertilizers, herbicides, irrigation machines, hand tractors, and electric knapsacks, among others.
Speaking at the event, Senator Umar commended the Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, for his unwavering dedication to repositioning the state’s agricultural sector. He also expressed appreciation to the State Ministry of Agriculture for their invaluable support in making the initiative a success.
He urged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the materials, emphasizing that their proper utilization would not only enhance their productivity but also contribute to the collective good of the entire district and the state.
This latest empowerment program further solidifies Senator Umar’s reputation for impactful, people-driven representation, which is focused on sustainable grassroots development and improving the livelihoods of his constituents. The initiative is a testament to his legacy of providing tangible support to farmers and reinforcing the government’s vision of a prosperous and food-secure Nigeria.
