We’re Proud of Your Legislative Impacts – PCRC Tells Kwara Assembly



Kwara State House of Assembly, the Tenth Legislature under the leadership of the Rt Hon. Speaker, Rt Hon. Engr. Yakubu Danladi-Salihu, has been commended for its legislative impacts in the state.

The Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) gave the commendation during a courtesy call and presentation of the award of excellence to the Speaker of the House at the Assembly Complex, Ilorin.

“We are here for two things: courtesy visit and to present you an award of excellence through the office of the National Assistant Auditor, PCRC headquarters, in collaboration with the Kwara chapter of the PCRC to let you know that you are doing well. You really tried, most especially in terms of the bills being passed in this Assembly, especially bills on cultism and anti-kidnapping and your continuous support to the police. This is why we decided to honour you,” PCRC National Assistant Auditor Alhaji Mohammed Uthman Jagunmo stated.

Alhaji Jagunmo continued, “PCRC was created in the year 1984 to assist the police with credible information and logistics support to enhance their service delivery because the government cannot do it alone. We need the support of stakeholders like you. We acknowledge and commend the efforts of His Excellency Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his valuable support to the security agencies and efforts to keep the state peaceful and safe for all.”

He also briefed the Speaker about the 41st anniversary of the committee held at the Police Officers Mess in Ilorin, among other programmes of the PCRC, such as the empowerment of police widows with cash and foodstuffs to support the police.

The Kwara State Chairman and Secretary of the PCRC, Alhaji Adebayo Lawal and Superintendent of Police Toun Ejire Adeyemi, in their separate remarks, appreciated Rt. Hon. Engr. Danladi-Salihu’s impressive performance and his collaboration with the executive arm of government, especially on security and support for the security agencies, soliciting more support for the committee.

Responding, the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Engr. Yakubu Danladi-Salihu, thanked the PCRC for commending the Assembly for its legislative impacts and pledged the continued support and cooperation of the lawmakers to all efforts and endeavours designed to make Kwara remain safe for all.

“We appreciate you for recognising the impressive performance of the Assembly and the support we have been receiving from the committee. We know the police cannot do it alone, and we are always ready to play our part as stakeholders, and as lawmakers, I want to assure you of our continued support to keep Kwara safe like we have always been doing.”

The PCRC’s delegation was led by its National Assistant Auditor, Alhaji Muhammad Uthman Jagunmo, State Chairman, Alhaji Adebayo Lawal, State Secretary, SP Toun Ejire Adeyemi, Vice Chairman, Dr Salihu Ahmed, Abdulrasheed Waziri and Bello Bolaji who are members of the state chapters.
