The newly inaugurated Minister of Solid Minerals, Dele Alake, has reassured that he will begin implementing President Bola Tinubu’s ‘Renewed Hope’ agenda for the solid minerals sector.
Alake made this statement during his assumption of duty at the Ministry’s headquarters in Abuja. He emphasized that his team is fully committed to revitalizing the solid minerals sector in line with the President’s directive and the sector’s mandate.
Alake also revealed that a roadmap for the sector will be unveiled in the coming days.
He stated, “Having previously worked with the President in his cabinet for eight years, I understand the importance of achieving results. We are here to make a difference, and we believe that with everyone’s cooperation, we can succeed.”
Alake further emphasized that they will not allow any obstacles to hinder their goals, as the world’s attention is shifting towards solid minerals while hydrocarbon diminishes.
He urged everyone to pay attention and ensure that they get it right.
Likewise, the Minister of Steel Development, Shuaibu Abubakar Audu, expressed his commitment to the President’s mandate of improving the steel sector.
He acknowledged that there are numerous steel companies in the country but emphasized the need to tackle them one at a time. He also stressed the importance of positioning Nigeria among the G-20 industrialized nations and working towards producing steel in the country in the near future.
Audu stated, “We must not fail in steel production, and we are determined to kick-start the Ajaokuta Steel machine.”
In addition, the Minister of State, Steel Development, Maigari Uba Ahmadu, called for collaboration with stakeholders in the sector to achieve their set goals.
