50th Anniversary: Kwara Poly Business Admin Targets ₦500m for New Building, Calls Alumni & Public for Support

••• Event to feature celebrations, awards, reunion and fundraising at Kwara Poly Auditorium

The Department of Business Administration and Management, Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, is set to celebrate its 50th Anniversary in grand style, with a major fundraising campaign for the construction of a new departmental complex.

The golden jubilee celebration, under the leadership of the Head of Department, Alakoso Ibrahim Kayode, will take place on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, by 10:00 am at the Rear Admiral Muhammad Alabi Lawal Auditorium within the Polytechnic.

The event will bring together alumni, public figures, and distinguished guests for a day of celebrations, awards, reunion, and fundraising activities aimed at generating ₦500 million to finance the newly proposed Department of Business Administration and Management building.

According to the programme outline, the Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Hajia Saadat Kawu Madibo, will grace the event as Guest of Honour, while the Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Engr. Yakubu Danladi Saliu, will serve as Special Guest of Honour.

The Rector of Kwara State Polytechnic, Dr. Engr. Abdul Jimoh Muhammad, is the Chief Host, while the Director of IFMS, Kwara Poly, Dr. Adewoye Adegboyega, will act as Host.

Prominent personalities will also headline the fundraising as Chief Launchers, including:

Speaking ahead of the ceremony, the HOD described the 50th Anniversary as a historic milestone for the department, noting that the event would not only celebrate past achievements but also position the department for greater impact in the future.

The celebration promises to be a convergence of academia, government, business leaders, and alumni, reflecting the department’s contributions to human capital development in Nigeria over the last five decades.
