Renowned Alumnus Association, AWOSA Appoints New Executives

The Al-Iman Wukari Old Students Association (AWOSA) has announced the appointment of new executives to steer the affairs of the association.

The new leadership team, whose nominations were ratified by the Association’s Shurah Committee, is tasked with fostering the growth of the school, supporting graduates to excel in their chosen areas of specialization and creating opportunities for students to succeed in their academics while in school and beyond.

Among the new appointees is the renowned Youth Advocate and Media Practitioner, Saeed Tijjani, who will serve as the Information Director. He joins a diverse team of professionals and accomplished alumni, with Dr. Musa M. Dodo as President.

The new leadership also includes Ibrahim Musa as VP I, Radiologist (Rad) Khadija Maikano as VP II, and Ashraf Ishaq as Secretary-General.

Other key executives are Barr. Rabaha Nyajo as Treasurer, Dahiru Abdul-Hamid as Financial Secretary, and Umar Farouk Bakari as Speaker.

The Legal Adviser is Barr. Ikrimah Isah, who notably represented Nigeria in the 1998 Qur’anic Recitation Competition in Saudi Arabia, where he placed third.

Al-Iman School Wukari, established in 1992, is a respected institution in Taraba State that combines both Islamic and Western education. It is known for producing notable personalities who have excelled globally and nationally, including numerous PhD and MSc holders and individuals who have made significant marks in various fields.

The school also boasts of a strong track record in science-related competitions, such as the Olympiad and Cowbell Mathematics competitions.

The new executives are expected to build on the legacy of the association, which was launched in 2007 as the umbrella body for alumni of the school in Nigeria and worldwide.

According to a statement from the association, the new leadership will commence preparations to take over from the outgoing executive council.

The Shurah Committee, led by Ustaz Adamu Dama (Chairman) and Engr. Bukhari Auwal (Secretary), confirmed that the nominations were based on a thorough assessment of the candidates’ competence and suitability for the roles.

The new executive team is charged with key responsibilities, including corporate engagements to support the school’s growth and creating opportunities for its graduates.
