••• Calls for Immediate Curfew and Security Reinforcement

Kwara South Youths under the aegis of the Kwara South Youth Development Organization (KWAYORG) has expressed deep sorrow and indignation following a horrific attack in Oke-Ode, Ifelodun Local Government Area, on Sunday morning.
In a statement made available to 9japarrot media on Sunday and signed by the General Secretary, Amb. Ashaolu, David Taiwo, contrary to reports flying around KWAYORG confirms that at least ten innocent residents were brutally murdered, with an unspecified number abducted in what it described as a mindless act of terror.
Among the slain were respected community members, including Oji, Saheed Metubi, and Baale Ógba Ayo. Survivors with grievous injuries are currently receiving treatment at the General Hospital in Share.
KWAYORG under the leadership of Prince Abolarin Alaba Dansharafa, voiced grave concern over an alleged security lapse.
Vigilante groups revealed that distress calls and intelligence warnings had been raised as early as Saturday night, yet the community was reportedly left vulnerable, leading to the slaughter and abductions, the statement added.
While commending prior security initiatives by the Kwara State Government, the group stressed that the brazen attack demands a decisive and sustained response. The organization respectfully put forth the following recommendations to the government:
* Imposition of a Dusk-to-Dawn Curfew: The immediate implementation of a curfew (6:00 pm – 6:00 am) in Oke-Ode and its environs to restrict movement and enhance surveillance.
* Swift Deployment of Personnel: The rapid deployment of additional security personnel and the reinforcement of local intelligence structures.
* Establishment of Permanent Outposts: The creation of permanent security outposts in vulnerable communities across Kwara South to ensure continuous protection.
KWAYORG warned that anything less than a firm and visible response would embolden the marauders and deepen public distrust.
The organization concluded by extending heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, affirming its solidarity with the people of Oke-Ode, and praying for the quick recovery of the injured.
KWAYORG asserted that the spilling of innocent blood must not be allowed to become the norm and prayed for divine intervention against the “scourge of insecurity.”
