
Engr. Nurudeen Adeyemi, a Member of the Board of Trustees of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), has embarked on a familiarisation visit to tertiary institutions in Niger State. The visit was aimed at assessing the level and impact of TETFund interventions across the institutions.
While addressing management and staff during the visit, Engr. Adeyemi reaffirmed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to restoring lasting peace in troubled parts of the country, particularly in the North-Central region where security concerns remain diverse and complex.
He also emphasized the dedication of the Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, to strengthening the quality of tertiary education nationwide. According to him, the ongoing policy reforms and strategic initiatives introduced by the Ministry are geared towards accelerating national development, with a focus on reintegrating out-of-school youths, equipping them with relevant skills, and positioning them to contribute effectively to the national economy.
After inspecting various TETFund-supported projects, Engr. Adeyemi commended the leadership of the Fund under the Chairman, Rt. Hon. Aminu Bello Masari, and the Executive Secretary, Arc. Sonny Echono, for their relentless efforts in ensuring that institutions receive the necessary support in terms of policy, funding, and collaboration. He added that these efforts are designed to enhance the visibility, competitiveness, and global ranking of Nigerian tertiary institutions.
In their remarks, the management of the institutions appreciated Engr. Adeyemi’s visit, and expressed gratitude to TETFund for its strategic and impactful interventions in key areas of need.
They described TETFund as a driving force for growth and one of the most effective public institutions in the country.
The institutions visited in Niger State include Abdulkadir Kure University, Minna; Federal University of Technology, Minna; Niger State Polytechnic, Zungeru; Niger State College of Education, Minna; Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida University, Lapai; and Federal Polytechnic, Bida.
