Eruku Attack: Amofin Akogun Slam Kwara Govt Over Worsening Insecurity

••• Calls for State of Emergency

The escalating and uncurbed insecurity ravaging our communities has reached a frightening peak. Day after day, our people in Kwara South and across the state continue to live in fear, while the government responds with silence, excuses, and blame-shifting.

At every opportunity, government media handlers accuse political stakeholders of “politicizing” insecurity, rather than addressing the urgent and painful reality our people face. This pattern has become the norm: denial, deflection, and an absence of any comprehensive or meaningful action.

We have consistently and repeatedly called for a State of Emergency in Kwara State over the worsening security situation. Yet, nothing has changed. Instead, citizens are left to bear the consequences of a government unwilling or unable to fulfill its basic responsibility of protecting lives and property.

The current administration must understand that governance is not a game of propaganda. It should resign if it cannot secure Kwara, or be prepared to answer for the irreparable damage, the displacement of families, and the tragic loss of lives caused by its inaction.

The Eruku attack over unarmed Christians while in their prayer house is one of the many gruesome attacks that has continued unabated.

Every conscientious Kwaran regardless of political affiliation must now demand accountability. We must all put this government on its toes before the crisis spreads further and reaches every doorstep.

Kwara and Nigerian Government Must Act Now as Insecurity Reaches Unbearable Levels. Kwara deserves peace. Our people deserve protection. The time to act is now.

Amofin Titilope Akogun
