••• Olupo, LG Chairman Laud Speaker for Purposeful Representation, Following Governor AbdulRazaq’s Footsteps
The Speaker of the Irepodun Local Government Legislative Council, Right Honourable Muritala Aliyu Omogoye has hosted the OMOGOYE 2025 End of Year Prayer & Cash Empowerment programme for over 100 constituents in his Ajase Ward 1 constituency.
The event, held at ADU Hall in Ajase-Ipo on Thursday, December 25, 2025, saw the distribution of cash empowerment to boost trade and businesses, fertilizers to enhance farming productivity, and a N100,000 donation to support local security efforts.
The initiative received high commendation from the Olupo of Ajase-Ipo, His Royal Majesty, Oba Ismail Abolaji Alebiosu, and the Irepodun LG Executive Chairman, Hon. Abdulazeez Yakub Tinuola, for aligning with the APC-led administration’s focus on compassionate, grassroots development.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Tinuola praised the Speaker noting that his actions were a result of the exemplary leadership provided by the State Governor.
“Hon. Murital Aliyu Omogoye is following our step and we’re following Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazak because our boss taught us to be kind and faithful to each other so we can have a successful administration” said Hon.Tinuola.
He added that the Speaker is a capable and determined person who has shown on many occasions to be a good leader as far as Irepodun Local Government Legislative Chamber is concerned.
“Muritala is always working in alliance with the exemplary leadership style of our amiable Governor, Mall. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.” He added.
The Chairman further commended the Speaker for his tenacity, dedication, and for being a reliable partner, adding that the prayers of constituents, particularly market women he had supported, had brought him far in his political career.
On his part, the First Class traditional ruler, Olupo of Ajase-Ipo, HRH Oba Ismail Bolaji Yahaya Alebiosu described Hon. Omogoye as a true son and good ambassador of Ajase-Ipo, praising his character, leadership quality, and passion for the socio-economic development of his Constituency.
Olupo lauded the current administration under the leadership of Gov AbdulRazaq for its focus on youth and community development.
“Today, we’re witnessing a new Kwara State Government different from past administration because youth now have rights in politics and governance inclusiveness” Olupo said.
“I have never heard where councilors do empowerment but this has become possible under the leadership of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and this act is directly improving our community and our state at large, said the revered monarch.
Oba Alebiosu extended appreciation to the first citizen of Irepodun LG, Hon Azeez Tinuola for the full support in ensuring the event became a reality noting that if not for his support the project may not take place.
He seized the opportunity to also commend Hon. Tinuola for his giant developmental strides, listing the reconstruction of Onijan palace and the renovation of the palaces of Onirore and Baale Buhari and Agbele as deserving recognition, among other notable achievements.
Earlier in his remarks, Hon. Muritala Aliyu Omogoye attributed the success of the programme to the guidance and support of the Chairman Irepodun LG and the visionary leadership of Governor AbdulRazaq while expressing appreciation to stakeholders who graced the event.
Hon. Omogoye specially thanked the Chairman for supporting the project acknowledging his words of advice and encouragement.
He commended the Governor for his leadership traits which he noted was a propeller for many political office holders’s success who are keenly following his template.
“This programme is deliberately designed to align with and further consolidate the visionary, people-centred, and inclusive leadership of His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, He said.
Hon. Omogoye added that initiative reflects his council firm belief that leadership must be responsive, inclusive, and people-oriented, a leadership that listens, leadership that acts, and leadership that delivers.
He concluded by acknowledging various stakeholders who graced the event, including the Chief Imam of Ajase-Ipo, CAN President, Ajase-Ipo Descendants Union, KWIRS Chairman (Chief Folashade Omoniyi), Professor Wale Sulaimon, and Hon. Olalekan Adewoye of LAF.
On her part, Irepodun LG APC Chairperson , Hon. Mrs. Rasheedat Kaseem, described the empowerment as remarkable and unprecedented.
On behalf of the party, she expressed gratitude to Hon. Omogoye for prioritizing the welfare and well-being of the Constituents.
Beneficiaries thanked Hon. Omogoye for the opportunity, promising to make judicious use of the cash and fertilizers.
