While en route to Abia State today, the Senator representing Abia North, Orji Uzor Kalu, popularly known as OUK, made a brief stop in Enugu State to pay a courtesy visit to the Governor of Enugu State, Peter Mbah.
During the engagement, Senator Kalu commended Governor Mbah for what he described as purposeful leadership and the remarkable pace of development and transformation across Enugu State.
He praised the administration’s focus on good governance, infrastructure renewal, and policies aimed at stimulating sustainable economic growth.
Following the meeting at the Government House, Governor Mbah and Senator Kalu proceeded to the country home of elder statesman, renowned nationalist, and former Governor of Anambra State, Jim Nwobodo, to pay their respects and engage him in discussions of national interest.

The visit, according to the leader, was an opportunity to draw from Chief Nwobodo’s vast reservoir of experience, spanning his service as a former governor and senator during Nigeria’s Second Republic, and to reflect on pathways to strengthening democratic governance and national cohesion.
Chief Nwobodo, alongside his wife, Chief Mrs. Patricia Nwobodo, received the delegation warmly at his residence.
The meeting was marked by an atmosphere of warmth, reflection, and constructive dialogue, underscoring the enduring value of intergenerational consultation in Nigeria’s political leadership.
The visit highlights continued collaboration among political leaders across the South-East and reinforces the role of elder statesmen in shaping conversations around governance, development, and unity.
