The Kwara State Government has continued the 2026 edition of its flagship Coding and Digital Literacy Programme, witnessing an exceptional turnout across participating institutions.
This strategic initiative, spearheaded by the Office of the Special Assistant to the Governor on Digital Innovations, continued academic operations on Monday, March 2, 2026. This represents a vital expansion of the milestones achieved during the 2025 edition, further solidifying the state’s commitment to institutionalizing digital proficiency within the grassroots student population.
To ensure a rigorous academic transition, the initial phase of the rollout focused on comprehensive revisions of the 2025 foundational modules. This pedagogical approach was specifically designed to reinforce core concepts before students advance into the more complex 2026 curriculum. Depending on their established progress levels, schools have strategically deployed specialized tracks in either coding or fundamental digital literacy, ensuring that every learner is met at their current stage of technical maturity.

Kwara State Government has established a robust monitoring framework to guarantee strict compliance with directives and quality standards across all districts. To standardize these essential digital competencies statewide, the government has directed schools currently outside the program to immediately incorporate the Digital Literacy curriculum into their academic frameworks. This directive ensures that digital education is not merely an elective but a core pillar of the state’s modern academic identity.
The updated 2026 curriculum introduces a blend of high-demand technical competencies and critical soft skills, reflecting the evolving requirements of the global technology ecosystem. By expanding the scope of instruction beyond basic computing, the administration is actively positioning Kwara State as a premier hub for human capital development.
This initiative reflects a broader vision of His Excellency, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq CON, to equip the youth with globally competitive skills, fostering an environment where innovation and digital literacy serve as the primary drivers of sustainable economic progress.
