APC Kwara State Governorship Aspirant and chieftain, Prof. Wale Sulaiman, CON, has applauded the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, CON, for the elevation of ten traditional rulers in the state to First-Class status, describing the decision as a strategic step toward strengthening the traditional institution in Kwara State.
In a statement issued on the development and made available to 9japarrot, Prof. Sulaiman noted that traditional rulers play a critical role in community leadership, peacebuilding, and grassroots development, adding that the recognition of their status would further enhance their capacity to contribute meaningfully to governance and community stability.
He congratulated the newly elevated monarchs, namely: HRM Oba Joel Olaniyi Oyatoye Titiloye Olufayo II (JP), Oloro of Oro Kingdom; HRM Oba Yakub Agboola Babalola Edunjobi II, Elesie of Esie; HRM Oba Abdulrazaq Adegboyega Afolabi Iyiolasemi III, Olojoku of Ojoku; HRM Oba Mufutau Adebayo Lawal Titiloye III, Onipe of Ipee; HRM Oba Sharafadeen Adeniyi Buhari Babalola, Onijagbo of Ijagbo; HRM Oba (Pharmacist) Ajibola Ademola Julius Iluyomade I, Olusin of Ijara-Isin; HRM Oba (Engr.) Samuel Adelodun, Owalobo of Obbo-Aiyegunle; HRM Oba David Adekunle Olaniyan, Elekan of Ekan; HRM Oba Joshua Oluwatoba Adegbuyi Oluwanran Aniyeloye II, Olota of Odo-Owa; and HRM Oba Dr. Olusegun Abayomi Tayelolu Rotimi (JP), Arojojoye I, Orimadegun II, Obajisun of Ayedun.
Prof. Sulaiman described their elevation as a well-deserved recognition of their leadership roles and contributions to the peace, cultural preservation, and development of their respective communities.
The APC chieftain also commended Governor Abdulrazaq for his continued commitment to the welfare, dignity, and capacity building of traditional rulers across the state, noting that strengthening the traditional institution remains vital for sustainable grassroots governance and community development.
He prayed that Almighty God grants the newly elevated monarchs wisdom, good health, and a successful reign as they continue to provide leadership and guidance to their people while preserving the rich cultural heritage of their kingdoms.
