A prominent philanthropist and the Founder of the Oluwasegun Olaoye Foundation, Chief Oluwasegun Michael Olaoye on Monday officially submitted his letter of intent to contest for the Ekiti/Irepodun/Isin/Oke-Ero Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives.
Chief Olaoye, who holds the traditional title of Babalaje of Oro Kingdom presented his formal notification to the Kwara State Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC), led by the State Chairman, Prince Sunday Fagbemi at the party secretariat in Ilorin.

The event, which was preceded by an opening prayer from the State APC Women Leader Chief (Hajia) Falilat Ronke Muhammad also featured remarks from a former Kwara State Commissioner, Hon. Ben Duntoye who attested to the aspirant’s capacity.

In his letter of intent, Chief Olaoye, an indigene of Ijomu Oro in Irepodun Local Government stated that his decision to run was fueled by a commitment to provide responsive legislation and facilitate democratic dividends for his constituents.
“I have been a loyal and committed party member for many years and have undertaken several activities to strengthen our great party at the grassroots,” Olaoye stated.
“I am convinced that I possess the experience, capacity, and temperament required to represent our people effectively at the National Assembly.” He added.
Responding to the declaration, the State APC Chairman, Prince Sunday Fagbemi, described the Babalaje as a “dependable pillar” and a “true asset” to the party.
He noted that Olaoye’s traditional title was a testament to his selfless service and high value within his community.
The Chairman particularly lauded the aspirant for being accompanied by his wife and family, describing it as a mark of a responsible leader.

“For you to be installed as the Babalaje of Oro Kingdom shows the level of commitment and support you have rendered to your people,” Fagbemi said.
“It confirms that you are not just any person; you are highly valued and possess the tenacity to represent well.” He added.
Prince Fagbemi urged the aspirant to remain focused on a vision-driven campaign rather than engaging in distractions regarding other contenders.
“Tell the people about your capacity and your vision. Avoid being distracted by discussing other candidates. At the end of the day, a candidate will emerge and we must all stand united,” the Chairman advised.
