World-renowned neurosurgeon and APC chieftain Prof. Wale Sulaiman, CON has officially picked up the All Progressives Congress (APC) expression of interest and nomination forms in Abuja to contest for Kwara Governor comes 2027.

The move marks the formal entry of the healthcare magnate into the contest to succeed Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.

Prof. Sulaiman, who serves as the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of the Federal University of Health Sciences, Ila-Orangun, reportedly took the step following extensive consultations with power brokers at both the state and national levels.

Shortly after obtaining the forms, Prof. Sulaiman was pictured in a private audience with the former Interim National Chairman of the APC and a key ally of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Chief Bisi Akande.

While the visit is seen by many as a move to secure national blessings, it has also raised questions regarding his standing in a crowded field of aspirants.

9japarrot reports that his appearance with Chief Akande is being interpreted by analysts as a strategic signal of his deep roots within the Presidential inner circle, potentially giving him a significant edge in the primary negotiations.

Prof. Sulaiman, who holds the national honor of Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON), has long been an advocate for structural reforms in Kwara’s healthcare and social support systems.
