Hajia Sa’adatu Modibbo Kawu (SMK), a leading House of Representatives aspirant for the Ilorin East/South Federal Constituency on Wednesday joined thousands of women at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium for the historic National Women Mega Empowerment and Rally 2026.
The event, popularly dubbed the “10 Million March,” was organized by the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development under the leadership of the Honourable Minister, Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim. The rally, themed “The Power of 10 Million: One Voice, One Movement, One Choice,” was graced by the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu and served as a massive mobilization effort for the continuity of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration beyond 2027.
Speaking on the sidelines of the rally, Hajia Sa’adatu Kawu described the movement as a bold testament to the growing nationwide consensus in support of the President’s leadership. She particularly lauded the initiative’s strategy to empower 1,200 women per ward across the federation.
“Such efforts align perfectly with the Renewed Hope Agenda,” Kawu said.
“This targeted support must be institutionalized to ensure that the impact on our women at the grassroots remains long-term and sustainable.” She added.
Hajia Kawu used the global stage to applaud the Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON for his deliberate policies that have turned Kwara into a national benchmark for gender inclusion.
As a direct product of the Governor’s gender-friendly administration, she expressed her gratitude for the pathway he has created for female leaders. “Governor AbdulRazaq has moved Kwara from symbolic gestures to intentional inclusion, providing real opportunities for women to participate meaningfully in leadership,” she noted.
Reaffirming her 2027 bid, the aspirant called on political stakeholders across party lines to prioritize women in both elective and appointive positions. She argued that women remain the backbone of electoral success and must be central to governance processes.
Hajia Kawu concluded by pledging her unwavering support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027, linking his continued leadership to national stability and progress for the Nigerian woman.
The 10 Million March is regarded as one of the largest coordinated political gatherings of women in Nigeria’s recent history, signaling a unified endorsement of the current administration’s inclusive governance model.
