Kwara South Jowuros Laud MOK Foundation, Call Farm Input Distribution Timely

Members of the Kwara South Jowuros have expressed gratitude to the MOK Foundation for distributing farm inputs to farmers across the zone, describing the intervention as timely and impactful.

The appreciation was conveyed during a radio program where representatives of the Jowuros, a traditional titleholders’ among the Fulani group in Kwara South, spoke on the benefits of the support to smallholder farmers ahead of the planting season.

The group said the distribution of inputs such as fertilizer, improved seedlings, and agrochemicals would reduce the cost of farming and boost food production in the area. They noted that many farmers in the rural communities of Kwara South had struggled with access to quality inputs due to rising costs.

“We want to thank the MOK Foundation for remembering our farmers at this critical time.” This gesture will go a long way in improving yields and encouraging more young people to take agriculture seriously.”

The fulani leaders urged other well-meaning individuals and organizations to emulate the foundation’s model of grassroots support, stressing that agriculture remains the backbone of Kwara South’s economy.

They also called on beneficiaries to make good use of the inputs and avoid diversion, so the impact can be felt across communities.

The MOK Foundation, founded by philanthropist Muhydeen Okunlola Kayode, has been involved in several interventions in education, health, and agriculture across Kwara State.

The Jowuros said they would continue to mobilize support for initiatives that prioritize rural development and food security in Kwara South.
