The 2026 Kwara Coding and Digital Literacy Programme successfully concluded its second week of activities, maintaining high momentum across all sixteen Local Government Areas. This phase of the initiative saw a deepened level of engagement between students and facilitators, as participants transitioned from theoretical concepts to intensive practical applications of digital tools.
A primary focus of the week was the mastery of fundamental programming principles. Students participated in hands-on sessions dedicated to writing clean, readable code. The curriculum progressed significantly into frontend development using HTML and CSS, while also equipping learners with essential data analysis skills through Microsoft Excel.
A standout feature of this week’s activities was the seamless integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into the classroom. Students explored practical ways AI can serve as a powerful ally in research and problem-solving. This exposure is designed to demystify emerging technologies and encourage a culture of innovation among the students.

Complementing the technical training, the programme prioritized online safety. Facilitators led critical discussions on cybersecurity, data privacy, and the long-term implications of a digital footprint. Learners were taught to distinguish between secure and unsecured web environments, ensuring they possess the necessary skills to navigate the internet responsibly and safely.
The administrative and logistical coordination across all training centers remained consistent, ensuring that the high volume of participants received quality instruction without disruption. This structured approach reflects the state’s dedication to institutionalizing digital literacy and ensuring that no child, regardless of their location, is left behind in the global tech race.
The sustained success of this initiative continues to be driven by the visionary leadership of the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq CON. His Excellency’s dedicated commitment to digital innovation and grassroots human capital development remains the cornerstone of this programme’s expansion and impact across the state.
