Leading aspirant under the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Irepodun Assembly seat, Hon. Ahmed Babajide Olanrewaju, popularly known as “Abono,” has successfully scaled the party’s screening exercise.
Abono appeared before the APC Screening Committee at the weekend, where he successfully presented his credentials and vision for the constituency, officially clearing the path for him to contest in the upcoming primary elections.
Speaking to newsmen shortly after his successful clearance, Hon. Ahmed Babajide expressed his gratitude to the party leadership for the transparent conduct of the screening process. He noted that his successful clearance is a victory for the people of Irepodun aligning with his preparedness to offer quality representation.
“The successful completion of this screening process is a significant milestone in our journey toward a more prosperous and well-represented Irepodun,” Abono said.
“It confirms our readiness to serve with integrity and to bring the yearnings of our people to the forefront of governance.” He added.
Known for his grassroots connectivity and long-standing history of community support, Abono’s legislative agenda is built on the pillars of inclusive development, youth empowerment, and agricultural revitalization.
In his remarks, Hon. Babajide Olanrewaju reaffirmed his unwavering loyalty to the leadership of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON, describing the Governor as the architect of the new Kwara. He emphasized that his mission in the House of Assembly would be to support and sustain the Governor’s developmental strides in Irepodun Local Government Area.
“We are running on a platform of continuity and progress. Our goal is to ensure that the dividends of democracy, which Governor AbdulRazaq has worked so hard to establish, reach every nook and cranny of our constituency,” he added.
