Officer Woos Denies Drug Trafficking Arrest Rumours, Issues 48-Hour Retraction Ultimatum

By Monsurat Abisoye

Content creator Jubril Oladapo Gbadamosi, popularly known as Officer Woos, has denied viral allegations claiming he was arrested for drug trafficking and that he falsely announced the death of a colleague on his platform.

In a statement dated 19 June 2026 and issued through Versed Attorneys, Gbadamosi described the claims as “entirely false, fabricated, and without any basis whatsoever.” The firm said the allegations were circulated by anonymous accounts on X as part of a coordinated online campaign.

The first claim alleged that he had been under arrest since 2025 over drug trafficking, while the second suggested he used his official page to announce the death of a close associate. The statement firmly rejected both, stressing that Gbadamosi has never been arrested, investigated, or linked to drug trafficking at any time, and has never announced the death of any colleague, friend, or associate on his platforms.

The lawyers further stated that the publications were a deliberate attempt to damage his reputation and brand, describing them as “manufactured” and aimed at misleading the public.

Citing Nigerian defamation laws and the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, Etc.) Act, the firm warned that spreading unverified criminal allegations is a serious offence. It demanded an immediate and unconditional retraction from all individuals and platforms involved, as well as a public apology on the same channels where the claims were published within 48 hours.

The statement warned that failure to comply would result in legal action, including civil defamation suits and formal petitions to law enforcement and regulatory bodies.

The lawyers also urged the public, media, and fans to disregard the rumours and rely only on verified information from the actor’s official platforms and the law firm. Officer Woos remains one of Nigeria’s most followed skit makers, known for his comedy content across Instagram, X and YouTube.
