The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), George Akume, has reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to the welfare and well-being of Nigeria’s military veterans.
Akume pledged on Wednesday while receiving a delegation from the National Council of the Nigerian Legion, led by its Chairperson, Grace Morenike Henry.
The SGF commended retired military personnel for their sacrifices in safeguarding Nigeria’s sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity. He stated that President Bola Tinubu’s administration remains committed to improving the lives of veterans who served the nation with courage and patriotism.
According to Akume, the government is proud of both serving and retired members of the Armed Forces, whose sacrifices have contributed significantly to the country’s peace and stability. He also assured the delegation that issues raised by the Nigerian Legion would receive careful consideration in collaboration with relevant government agencies.
