Police said the woman suffered a minor leg injury, while the man sustained more serious injuries to his arm.

The stabbing did not affect access to the Acropolis or the museum, with both tourist sites remaining open.

The Acropolis is one of Greece’s most visited landmarks. The ancient hill is home to the nearly 2,500-year-old Parthenon temple and other historic monuments. Official figures show that about 4.6 million people visited the site last year.
