The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Ekiti/Irepodun/Isin/Oke-Ero Federal Constituency, Hon. Olasumbo Florence Oyeyemi, has described traditional rulers as the custodians and gatekeepers of grassroots communities, praising their reception following the conclusion of the party’s ‘Thank You’ tour across Kwara South.

Speaking with Journalists at the end of the consultative tour across seven local government areas in the senatorial district, Oyeyemi stated that engaging the traditional institution was crucial to building community support ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Direct Statement.

“We thank God for the tour that started on Saturday. We were able to go around seven local governments, saying a major ‘thank you’ to our traditional institution led by our traditional rulers, because we know they are the custodians of our communities and the gatekeepers of the people we stand to represent.” She said.

“The reception has been great, and we love how they have received us as we move towards victory in 2027. The warmth from both traditional leaders and party faithfuls shows that our party is marching steadily toward victory.” Oyeyemi added.

The statewide ‘Thank You’ tour, which featured state party leaders, governorship candidate and Assembly Speaker Rt. Hon. Yakubu Danladi Salihu, and candidates across Kwara South, provided a platform to consolidate party unity, thank delegates for the successful primary elections, and engage traditional councils on the party’s developmental plans.

Oyeyemi, a former Kwara State Commissioner for Finance, reaffirmed her commitment to providing inclusive representation for her constituency and consolidating the infrastructural legacies of Governor Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq across the four local government areas making up the federal constituency.
