The 2026 Summer Edition of the Kwara Coding and Digital Literacy Programme maintained momentum across participating public secondary schools in Kwara State, transitioning students into advanced, project-based digital skills training during its second week.
Coordinated by the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Digital Innovations, the six-week initiative builds on foundational concepts introduced in Week One by immersing returning participants in practical technical tracks tailored to each centre’s pace.
During Week Two, classroom activities focused heavily on practical problem-solving across multiple software engineering and data disciplines, including Python programming where students explored lists, data structures, conditional logic, loops, and variable management to solve computational problems; web development and JavaScript where learners practiced building web interfaces using fundamental front-end tools alongside foundational JavaScript principles; AI and interactive applications where facilitators guided students in constructing interactive tools such as school timetable chatbots on Scratch while leveraging Artificial Intelligence as a coding assistant; and data analysis where participants engaged in hands-on data manipulation and structuring exercises using Microsoft Excel.
Expressing appreciation to Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON, the Office of the SSA on Digital Innovations credited the administration’s continued funding and vision for enabling young Kwarans to acquire future-ready skills that position the state as a growing technology hub in North-Central Nigeria.
