The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has released the final list of candidates for the 2027 Presidential and National Assembly elections, featuring 18 political parties and their presidential and vice-presidential candidates.
The list, signed by the Secretary of the Commission, Rose Oriaran-Anthony, shows that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is fielding President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, 74, with Vice President Kashim Shettima, 59, as his running mate.
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) is presenting former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, 79, alongside former Rivers State Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, 61.
Also on the list are Peter Gregory Obi, 65, of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), running with former Kano State Governor Musa Mohammed Rabiu Kwankwaso, 69.
The Labour Party (LP) is fielding Sunday Chibuzo Okereke, 43, alongside Hajja Bintu Konto, 54, while the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ticket comprises Sandy Ojang Onor, 60, and Umaru Babangida, 61.
Other candidates cleared by the commission include Rufai Adekunle Omo-Aje of the Action Alliance (AA), with Shehu Hussaini as his running mate; Aliyu Abbas-Bin of the Action Democratic Party (ADP), paired with Chinazam Ike; and Kabiru Yusuf of the Allied Peoples Party (APP), alongside Peace Egobia Ofordile.
The African Action Congress (AAC) is fielding Omoyele Sowore with Haruna Garba Magashi, while Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde of the Action Peoples Movement (APM) is paired with Musa Lawal Daura.
Sunday Adenuga of the Boot Party (BP) is running with Usman Turaki Mustapha.
The list also features Moses Olusoji Adebisi of the Democratic Labour Alliance (DLA), running with Nafisat Usaku Abubakar; Ada Elizabeth Fredrick Okwori of the National Democratic Party (NDP), paired with Uchenna Anthony Chukwuemeka; and Nkem Esther Okereke of the National Rescue Movement (NRM), alongside Nasir Muhammed Sulaiman.
Former Cross River State Governor Donald Duke is the presidential candidate of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), with Kabiru Rabiu as his running mate.
The Social Democratic Party (SDP) is fielding Adewole Ebenezer Adebayo and Usman Muhammed Bugaje, while the Young Progressives Party (YPP) ticket comprises Peter Ada Agada and Patience Ndidi Key.
The Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) is represented by Daniel Daberechukwu Nwanyanwu and Hassan Khalid.
According to the document, none of the 18 presidential candidates or their running mates declared any form of disability.
The list also features two female presidential candidates: Ada Elizabeth Fredrick Okwori of the NDP and Nkem Esther Okereke of the NRM. Four female candidates are also listed as vice-presidential candidates.
The candidates’ ages range from 35 to 80, while their academic qualifications span First School Leaving Certificate, WAEC and NABTEB certifications to university degrees, including doctorate holders among both presidential and vice-presidential candidates.
