Troops of Sector 2, Operation Fansan Yamma, have rescued two persons abducted by armed terrorists along the Anka Gadan Manya Road in Anka Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
The Nigerian Army said the rescue followed a swift response by the troops to an attack on travellers along the route.
According to the Army, the troops were conducting a routine patrol on September 4, 2026, when they observed armed bandits attacking two persons travelling on a motorcycle.
The troops immediately mobilised to the scene, forcing the attackers to flee into the surrounding terrain and abandon their captives.
The Army said security forces have since intensified operations in the area through aggressive patrols aimed at restricting the movement of criminal elements and protecting residents.
The development comes amid ongoing security operations across parts of Zamfara State to curb attacks, abductions and other criminal activities.
