Nigerian singer Adewale Mayowa Emmanuel, popularly known as Mayorkun, has revealed the advice his elder brother gave him after he complained about struggling to find the right woman to marry.
Speaking on a recent episode of the Uncut podcast, Mayorkun said his brother suggested that his difficulty might be linked to his failure to approach women during the daytime.
According to the singer, his brother asked when he last spoke to a woman in broad daylight, adding that a responsible woman should not be out as late as 1 a.m.
Mayorkun said he agreed with the advice, as he believes that a woman who is ready for a serious relationship should maintain certain standards.
The Mayor of Lagos crooner also recounted an experience with a woman he once invited on a date. He said she claimed not to know him or his music but later sang the lyrics of one of his old songs word for word when it played on the radio during their second date.
He further expressed concern that pretence and the display of fake lifestyles have made it increasingly difficult for him to find a suitable life partner.
