The National Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) has partnered with the National Orientation Agency (NOA) to launch a nationwide advocacy campaign focused on national image-building, responsible citizenship, and positive international relations to boost trade and foreign investment.
The initiative was finalized during a high-level engagement titled “An Evening with the Director-General of the National Orientation Agency,” where a NACCIMA delegation led by National Public Relations Officer Hajia Madinat Adigun-Oladotun met with NOA Director-General, Mr. Lanre Issa-Onilu.
The delegation, representing NACCIMA National President Engr. Jani Ibrahim, also included NACCIMA China Relations Executive Arc. Zakirudeen Oladotun and communications specialist Mr. Ismail Omipidan.
Speaking on behalf of the association, Hajia Madinat Adigun-Oladotun emphasized that a nation’s global reputation remains a critical asset in attracting foreign direct investment, facilitating international business partnerships, and expanding market access for Nigerian goods and services.
“Every Nigerian, whether at home or abroad, has a fundamental responsibility to protect the country’s image and contribute to its reputation as a credible partner in the global community,” NACCIMA stated.
“We must move away from circulating misleading narratives or making irresponsible statements capable of undermining Nigeria’s diplomatic relationships and economic interests.” They added.
The business body commended Issa-Onilu for introducing targeted value re-orientation programs at the NOA to instill core citizenship values, patriotism, and constructive civic engagement among young Nigerians.
NACCIMA confirmed that it is working with the NOA to finalize public enlightenment programs that will engage business communities, media practitioners, professional associations, and youth groups in promoting cultural diplomacy, responsible international engagement, and national image management.
