AbdulRazaq Approves Cash-Backed Promotion for 5,956 Kwara SUBEB Staff

Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has approved the release of promotion letters for 5,956 eligible teaching and non-teaching basic school staff across the state, with the financial implementation taking effect from October 2026.

The Executive Chairman of the Kwara State Universal Basic Education Board (KWSUBEB), Prof. Shehu Raheem Adaramaja, announced the development during a management meeting at the board’s headquarters in Ilorin.

According to an official statement signed by KWSUBEB Press Secretary, Atere Abiola Ameenat and made available to 9japarrot, the promotions follow a Computer-Based Test (CBT) assessment conducted in October for eligible personnel.

Beneficiaries are expected to collect their promotion letters through the Education Secretaries in their respective local government areas.

Highlighting the administration’s investments in basic education, Prof. Adaramaja noted that Governor AbdulRazaq has maintained regular staff promotions since assuming office while resolving long-standing financial liabilities inherited from previous administrations.

“Let me put it on record that apart from prompt payment of monthly salaries, regular training and re-training of teachers, and approval of the implementation of the 27.5% Teachers Specific Allowance (TSA), Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has consistently implemented promotions for teachers from 2017 to date,” Adaramaja stated.

“This includes clearing the arrears of SUBEB staff promotions and settling 345% of salary arrears inherited from past administrations.” He added.

The SUBEB Chairman emphasized that taking care of teachers’ welfare remains central to the state government’s strategy for improving student performance and service delivery across public primary and junior secondary schools.
