Former lawmaker, Hon. Saheed Popoola has accused the APC-led Kwara State Government of using the police to intimidate opposition voices in Kwara South.
Popoola, who spoke during the official decamping of hundreds of APC members to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyun Local Government Area, said he and other stakeholders in Kwara South were invited by the police for discussing the worsening insecurity in the region.
“The APC-led Kwara Government is using the police force to intimidate us. I alongside other stakeholders in Kwara South have been invited because we are discussing insecurity, but we won’t stop,” Popoola declared.
He said attempts to silence stakeholders will not deter them from demanding accountability and security for their communities.
The defection event in Oyun witnessed a massive turnout as hundreds of APC members officially joined the PDP, pledging allegiance to the leadership of Engr. Kale Kawu and the PDP structure in Kwara South.
