According to reports, a boat accident occurred on River Kogi Kungra Kamfani in Arikiya, Lafia Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, resulting in the loss of at least 12 lives.
The victims, who were on their way to the farm, were aboard a boat carrying a total of 19 people.
The state House of Assembly expressed their condolences and described the incident as unfortunate, acknowledging the significant loss suffered by the state due to the death of the 12 individuals.
The lawmakers, led by Speaker Ibrahim Abdullahi, offered their sympathies to the state government, Lafia local government, and the families of the deceased.
They expressed their sadness over the tragic boat accident in Arikiya, Lafia LGA, which claimed the lives of both men and women.
The lawmakers, along with the entire Nasarawa community, prayed for the souls of the deceased to rest in peace.
