Transparency: ENetSuD Reveals Breakdown Of Tanke Flyover Contract Sum

 

The Elites Network for Sustainable Development (ENetSuD) has taken a significant step in promoting transparency by revealing a detailed breakdown of the contract amount for the construction of the single-carriage flyover bridge at Pipeline Tanke Junction in Ilorin, Kwara State.

City International Dimensions was awarded the contract for the Tanke Flyover project on December 13th, 2021.

ENetSuD’s Director of Investigation and Public Petition (Kwara Central) Comrade Gambari Volvo, signed the press release, which sheds light on the disclosure of the contract amount.

This disclosure follows ENetSuD’s thorough analysis of the Bill of Engineering Measurement and Evaluation (BEME) for the project, which is part of the initiatives supervised by the Kwara State Government (KWSG) under the leadership of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq

The statement states that ENetSuD is currently conducting a critical examination of the BEME, after which on-site measurements and quantification will be carried out to determine if the work done by the contractor corresponds to the amount spent by the government on the project.

ENetSuD’s preliminary disclosure provides a detailed breakdown of the contract amount, offering insight into the allocation of funds for various components of the project.

According to ENetSuD, the total cost of the project is ₦2,410,338,700, divided into five separate bills.

“Bill 1 covers General Provisions, with a budget of ₦50,000,000.

“Bill 2 addresses Site Clearing and Earthworks, with an amount of ₦150,405,750.

“Bill 3 encompasses Culverts, Drains, and Retaining Walls, totaling ₦891,576,215.

“Bill 4 is allocated to Pavement and Surfacing, with ₦406,464,974.

“Bill 5 pertains to Bridge Construction, with a budget of ₦636,958,332.”

The statement further reveals that provisions have been made for contingencies, totaling ₦106,770,262, to account for unforeseen circumstances.

“An additional ₦168,163,164 is allocated for Value-Added Tax (VAT) on the project.”

The civil society organization intends to provide more comprehensive details about each bill in future communications.

It emphasizes that the purpose of this disclosure is to promote transparency and provide a deeper understanding of the allocation and utilization of funds for the Tanke Flyover project, contributing to greater public awareness and appreciation.

The statement concludes by reiterating the organization’s commitment to promoting transparency and accountability in infrastructure projects.
