Ekiti Police Arrest 10 Suspects Over Murder Of FUOYE Student

 

10 suspects have been arrested by the Ekiti State Police Command in connection with the death of Modupe Deborah, a student at Federal University, Oye Ekiti.

The announcement was made by DSP Abutu Sunday, the command’s Public Relations Officer, on the command’s handle on X (formerly Twitter).

Deborah, a 200-level nursing student, was reported missing within the school premises on September 5, 2023.

Her body was later found in a shallow grave behind the nursing Lecture Hall.

The Ekiti State Commissioner of Police has ordered a thorough investigation into her death, and the police promise to ensure the perpetrators face the full force of the law. Anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to come forward.

The deceased’s body has been taken to the morgue for autopsy, and 10 suspects are currently in custody undergoing investigation.

The school management also expressed condolences and stated that investigations are ongoing in collaboration with national security agencies to bring the culprits to justice.
