JC Sam Foundation, Wave Africa, and Sead Africa have collaborated to train over 200 Kwara youths in soft skills and entrepreneurship.

The training took place in Oyun Local Government Area in the southern part of Kwara and was a success, with a large turnout of youths embracing the opportunity offered by the workshop.

Mr. Ilufoye Samson, the Chief Executive Officer of JC Sam Foundation, explained that the aim of the training was to expose the youth to the opportunities that these skills can provide in the 21st century.

“All subjects were thoroughly taught, and the participants were grouped into five different teams. Each team was assigned various tasks related to generating business ideas in their respective domains,” Mr. Samson added.

The training also included presentations of ideas, testing the participants’ knowledge on how to solve issues using the skills acquired during the training.

A total of 250 youths from various wards in Oyun Local Government registered to participate in the event.

The training focused on topics such as peace and conflict resolution, emotional intelligence, teamwork, and generating business ideas, among others.

At the end of the training, participants were awarded certificates of participation and financial rewards as a way to encourage them to apply the knowledge gained.

On the final day of the program, the event was graced by the Oyun Local Government Chairman, community leaders, and leaders from various political parties.
