Hon. Gbenga Oyekunle, Chairman of the Gbenga Power Foundation, has marked an End-of-Year Thanksgiving and Empowerment event for the people of Kwara a few days before the New Year.
The event which took place at ECWA Secondary School, Igbaja,, Ifelodun Local Government of Kwara State has participants across the Seven Local Government Areas of Kwara South.
The Gbenga Power Foundation is an organization that has over the past 10years persistently sought to assist the downtrodden in the rural areas in Kwara by providing them succour at all times with the mandate of putting smile on the faces of the people and also providing infrastructural aids to different rural communities.
The Ifelodun TIC Chairman and Kwara State ALGON Chairman, Hon. Jide Ashonibare, while presenting his goodwill message as the Chief Host thanked the convener and founder of Gbenga Power Foundation for the numerous interventions he had taken place across Ifelodun Local Government and beyond.
Hon. Jide Ashonibare also commended His Excellency, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq for the good work that his administration has taken up and as well as the opportunity given to them as TIC members to perform in their role as leaders of the Local Government. The chairman concluded his goodwill message by acknowledging the amazing presence of top dignitaries across Kwara State and other attendees at the occasion for adding bliss and colour to the program.
While making his position, The Honourable member representing Omupo constituency at the Kwara State House of Assembly, Hon AGF Salaudeen commended the tremendous performance of Hon. Gbenga Power in Ifelodun Local Government Area and Kwara State as a whole, adding that countless people have been elevated through his foundation.
“Hon Gbenga Power has given out free Jamb, WAEC, NECO and NABTEB to students of secondary schools, doled out many boreholes to different communities in Ifelodun to ease water scarcity, paying series of students’ school fees and now, sharing foodstuffs to his constituents. However, I really commend and encourage him to keep it up”, he said.
Hon AGF Salahuddeen used the opportunity to elaborate on the tremendous achievement of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq in Ifelodun LGA and other identified projects for the 2024 fiscal year. He pleaded with all Kwarans to continually support and pray for the success of Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq.
Chief Sunday Fagbemi, the Kwara State APC chairman in an interview with the press thanked Hon Gbenga Power, saying this program isn’t the first occasion of empowering and helping people of kwara and encouraged him to do more and that may God continue to bless him and may his ambition comes true.
He further urged members of the APC to unite that fighting one another won’t bring anything other than hindering the achievements, saying they should call themselves to order and work as one to elevate the APC as a party.
“The foodstuffs should be shared to less privileged kwarans across Ifelodun, Offa and Oyun Local Government of Kwara State”, he concluded.
The founder and Chairman of Gbenga Power Foundation, Hon Gbenga Power happily expressed his gratitude to the dignitaries and other attendees’ presence while praying that may God bless them all.
He further that the good work had just started. We are doing this to give back to society, not for politics and we will continue to be doing it.
