NICO Boss, Otunba Biodun Ajiboye Visit North Central Zonal Office, Ilorin

The Executive Secretary/CEO of NICO, Otunba Biodun Ajiboye, undertook a working visit to the North Central Zonal Office of the Institute on Monday, April 8, 2024; located at the Federal Secretariat Complex, Fate Road, Ilorin, Kwara State. This visit was part of his scheduled tour to all the Institute’s Zonal and state offices.

Addressing the staff in the Board Room of the Secretariat Complex, Otunba Ajiboye articulated his vision for the institute, emphasizing his commitment to transforming operational dimensions within NICO. He underscored his determination to ensure that NICO attains its rightful standing among other MDAs in the country.

Further reiterating his commitment to reposition NICO in alignment with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, the Executive Secretary outlined management’s plan to establish Training Centres across the six geopolitical zones, with the North Central Zone’s centre situated in Ilorin, the capital of Kwara State. This move aims to provide training for political leaders, legislators, diplomats, public servants, military, and para-military personnel.

Furthermore, Otunba Ajiboye urged all NICO staff to demonstrate maximum cooperation and dedication. He reassured them of his administration’s commitment to prioritizing staff welfare and training initiatives. As an example, he mentioned a proposed training program for staff of the Corporate Affairs/ICT Unit on equipment handling, such as Still and Motion Cameras, scheduled to commence soon, alongside the procurement of adequate office equipment. These efforts are geared towards enhancing productivity and achieving the institute’s objectives.

During his visit, the Executive Secretary was warmly received by the NICO North Central Zonal Director, Mrs. Francisca Nneka Okoro, and her team. This occasion provided an opportunity for staff to engage with the Executive Secretary, who addressed their concerns. The visit concluded with a group photograph, symbolizing a shared commitment to NICO’s mission and goals.

After bidding farewell to the staff, Otunba Biodun Ajiboye and his entourage, accompanied by the Zonal Director, proceeded to inspect an abandoned office accommodation allocated to the Zonal office by the Kwara State government. The Executive Secretary pledged to undertake necessary actions to renovate the structure, potentially repurposing it as the proposed NICO North Central Zone Training Centre.
