Niger Govt Begins Demolition Of Cerico Junction, Others In Bida

By Musa Nagogo

The Government of Niger State has commenced the demolition of the Cerico Junction in Bida after duly compensating residents in August of last year 2023, giving them ample time to relocate.

This demolition will include all structures for which compensation was provided.

Additionally, all the heavy-duty vehicles that habitually park around the junction will be relocated.

According to the Government, the exercise is a deliberate effort by the state to alleviate traffic congestion in Bida town.

The government will then proceed with the construction of Cerico Road, and an interchange will be built at the junction to facilitate a smooth flow of traffic for those traveling from the Minna and Baddegi areas.

Governor Umaru Bago has assured that the previous year was just the beginning, with more development and the completion of ongoing projects expected in his second year in office.
