Opinion: Senator Ashiru, Bringing Back Our Township Roads In Offa

By Babatunde Opoola

It is easy for human beings to say that nothing is being done, but at least, _na koro koro eye_ I take see… well, it does not matter what you say.” (Olusegun Obasanjo , 2006, while on inspection of projects during the visit to one of the South Eastern states.)

I have made reference to the above quotation to urge the unrepentant critics  that we can differ politically but we should not differ in terms of development of Offa Local Government Area of Kwara State, which is our joint enterprise. At least we can see the revival of our township road projects with our *_Korokoro_* eyes vividly and strikingly alive.

Before the election of Architect Oyelola Yisa Ashiru, as Senator representing kwara South senatorial district in 2019, Offa community was at the mercy of the State government on provision of roads,  the state of our township roads was somewhat grounded. Call it abyss. Largely to neglect.

Five year on, a strong sense of reversal is evident in all spheres; infrastructure across the local government area, with the construction of township roads which has enhanced economic activity, and renewed the confidence all around for a better community.

Imagine that the neglected township roads in Offa  have been targeted for rehabilitation and construction since 1999, your guess is as good as mine.

All over the community, Ashiru has fascinated massive investment in infrastructural development which is yielding a network of roads for effective movement of goods and people and a consequent boost to the economic development of the local government area.
