
JIFE FOUNDATION, an indigenous NGO, has launched its maiden Cashew Seedling Agro-Empowerment Program, aimed at empowering 10,000 households in Irepodun LGA and its environs.
The initiative, which is the brainchild of Mr. Deji Adeleke, a diasporan Agro-preneur, and his wife, Mrs. Ife Adeleke (Founder of Plush Organics Limited), is established to promote self-sustaining communities through innovative agro-empowerment.
The launch, which took place at the Anglican Girls’ Secondary School, Iludun Oro, was attended by dignitaries, including Hon. Mrs. Oloruntoyosi Thomas (Kwara State Commissioner of Agriculture),Hon. Shola Odetundun, KWHA Member, Representing Irepodun LGA, traditional leaders, including the Baale of Iludun Oro, Abolaji Ayoola Stephen Olaonipekun Oyerinde, Oba Abdulfatai Talabi Oladega, the Alala of Ilala Kingdom, and Eleju of Igbonla Kingdom.
Mr. Deji Adeleke, Founder of JIFE FOUNDATION, stated that the foundation is committed to giving back to society through strategic partnerships and innovative empowerment programs.
On her part, Mrs.Ife Adeleke reiterated the foundation’s commitment to community development, while the Kwara State Commissioner for Agriculture, Hon. Mrs. Oloruntoyosi Thomas commended the foundation’s efforts, noting that they align with the government’s goal of achieving food security.
Beneficiaries of the program, including Mrs. Oyeniyi Abiola and Olabode Olawuyi, expressed gratitude, with some describing it as a timely and valuable opportunity for wealth creation and self-empowerment. “This program is a blessing to our community, and we are grateful to JIFE FOUNDATION for this initiative,” said Mrs. Oyeniyi Abiola. Olabode Olawuyi added, “This is a unique empowerment program, and we appreciate the foundation’s efforts in supporting our farming community.”
The Baale of Iludun Oro, Abolaji Ayoola Stephen Olaonipekun Oyerinde, commended the foundation for the worthy innovative Agro-Empowerment, noting that such empowerment programs are not only timely but will enrich the people and the community to be self-reliant. “We appreciate JIFE FOUNDATION for this laudable initiative, and we are confident that it will have a positive impact on our community,” he said.
Comrade Tajudeen O Lawale, Vice President of All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAM), also praised the foundation’s efforts, noting that they align with the association’s goals of promoting agricultural development in Nigeria.
The foundation also sponsored ICT and tech-related opportunities for students of the Anglican Girls’ Secondary School, Iludun Oro.
Some of the Beneficiaries of the ICT empowerment, including Babalola Glorious Gbemilake, Aderibigbe Grace, and Adeniji Funmilayo, expressed their gratitude to the foundation, praying for God’s blessings on the founders.
The event was hailed as a significant milestone in promoting food security and sustainable communities in Kwara State. Stakeholders urged well-to-do individuals to support similar initiatives, praising JIFE FOUNDATION for its innovative approach to agro-empowerment.
