Over 5000 Youths Apply For Senator Lola Ashiru’s ICT and Digital Empowerment Program

Senator Lola Ashiru’s Digital and ICT Empowerment Program has received an overwhelming response, with over 5000 youths from Kwara South Senatorial district applying for the initiative.

The program, sponsored by the Deputy Senate Leader, aims to empower 350 youths with ICT and digital skills, making them self-reliant.

Successful applicants will receive all-expenses-paid training in partnership with Offa and Environs Innovation Hub (ONIEH).

The application link, officially released through the verified social media account of the Lawmaker on Saturday, August 10th, received a massive turnout of applications, with the total number rising to 5065 in less than 7 days.

According to the Coordinating Team of the program, successful applicants will be contacted through their registered email address or phone number after being subjected to thorough scrutiny and verification.

The training is billed to commence on August 23rd. The first batch of youths will be trained on PCB Basic Level (Design For Assembly and Repairs) from 23rd to 28th August, while others will be taken through:

  • Digital Literacy (Beginners) & STEM
  • Multimedia Development
  • Web Design and Programming

The Lawmaker added that beneficiaries will be presented with brand new laptops and supported with necessary tools to advance their expertise as well as ease and actualize what they have learned during the training.

The Deputy Senate Leader reiterated his commitment to supporting the youth in his constituency, ensuring they become valuable and self-reliant members of society.

He stated that everything is in place to make the program a reality and that he will continue to do his best to support the youth.
