He is a graduate of Kwara State College of Education Oro. He was elected Councillor to represent Omu-Aran Ward II at the Irepodun Local Government Council in 2007 where he
Served as Chief Whip of the House.
Yakubu was elected Vice Chairman of Irepodun Local Government Area, Kwara State in 2010 and served till 2013.
In 2017, He emerged as Party Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the Irepodun local government.
The APC Chairmanship Candidate was appointed as a member of the Kwara State Transition Committee in 2019.

He is the CEO of AREMAZIZ Nigeria Limited. He served as State Chairman of the Motorcycle Operators Union of Nigeria (M.O.U.N), Kwara State Chapter in 2023. He got a national assignment as financial secretary.
