TETFund Taps Prof Wale Sulaiman CON For Healthcare Reform

The Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) has taken a significant step towards improving Nigeria’s healthcare system by inaugurating a seven-member committee focused on medical simulation and innovation. This move aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s vision of fostering innovative medical solutions and enhancing patient safety.

The committee, chaired by renowned Neurosurgeon and Physician Executive, Professor Wale Sulaiman, CON, comprises a distinguished group of healthcare experts. Other members include Dr. Femi Owagbemi, Prof. Enoch Uche, Dr. Kabir Mustapha, Prof. Hadiza Sheu Galandanci, Dr. Lawrence Eziashi Appah, and Prof. Babagana Bako.

The newly formed committee is tasked with developing a comprehensive framework to guide TETFund’s interventions in medical simulation and innovation. This framework aims to revolutionize critical healthcare areas, including surgical training, medical education, and patient care.

Professor Sulaiman, a pioneer in digital health, brings invaluable expertise to the committee. As the co-founder and Chief Medical Officer of Hippo Technologies, he has been at the forefront of virtual healthcare technology, telemedicine, and remote patient monitoring.

This appointment follows Professor Sulaiman’s recent designation to the TETFund National Research Fund Screening and Monitoring Committee (NRFS & MC). This dual role underscores TETFund’s commitment to fostering research and innovation in Nigeria’s higher education sector.
