ABRAL Initiative Partners Kwara Govt To Tackle Deforestation

ABRAL Development Initiative has partnered the Kwara State Gov’t towards combating deforestation and promoting a green economy.

ABRAL Development Initiatives in collaboration with the Kwara State Government earlier today launched the Kwara Tree Planting Initiative.

The event, which took place at the ACRESAL Nursery Site in Ijagbo, Oyun LGA, was attended by dignitaries, including Speaker, Kwara State House of Assembly, Hon. Nafisat Musa Buge, Kwara State Commissioner for Environment and Forestry, Hon Usman Lade (Commissioner for Water Resources), Offa Local Govt Chairman, Kamar Akanbi Chairman Oyun Local Government Area, Alhaji Shamsideen O. Aregbe State Project Coordinator Kwara ACRESAL, Traditional Rulers, among others.

The Tree Planting Initiative is part of the Universal Climate Initiative (UCI), a brainchild of Hon. Opeyemi Abdulhafiz Alao, Chairman of ABRAL Development.

The UCI aims to promote a green economy and reduce deforestation in Kwara State.

During the event, Hon. Opeyemi Abdulhafiz Alao unveiled Eedu Ramoni, a sustainable alternative to firewood, produced from waste products rich in content.

“This innovation is expected to reduce the demand for firewood and promote a cleaner environment” Hon Opeyemi said.

Hon. Nafisat Musa Buge, representing the Executive Governor of Kwara State, urged participants to join the state government in reducing deforestation.

“The Tree Planting Initiative is a significant step towards promoting a green economy and reducing deforestation in Kwara State”. She said.

“I commend ABRAL Development Initiative for this laudable initiative” Buge added.

She emphasized the importance of preserving the environment and promoting sustainable practices.

The initiative is expected to have a positive impact on the environment and promote sustainable practices in the state.
