Chief Rasaq Hussein Crowned Gbobaniyi Of Oro Kingdom

In a grand celebration of culture, unity, and tradition, Chief Rasaq Hussein was crowned the Gbobaniyi of Oro Kingdom by His Royal Majesty, Oba Joel Olaniyi Oyatoye Titiloye Olufayo II, the Oloro of Oro Kingdom. The prestigious chieftaincy title was conferred on December 30, 2024, at a colorful ceremony held in Oro, Kwara State.

The event was a beautiful display of Yoruba cultural heritage, featuring traditional music, dancing, and royal rituals. His Royal Majesty, Oba Joel Olaniyi Oyatoye, praised Chief Rasaq Hussein for his unwavering dedication to the growth and progress of Oro Kingdom, calling him a worthy recipient of the highly revered title. “Chief Hussein is a man of honor and integrity, whose contributions have uplifted our kingdom and its people. This title is well-deserved,” the monarch said.

The ceremony was graced by an impressive array of dignitaries, traditional rulers, and notable personalities. Among them was HRM Oba Ismail Yahya Aroloye Alebiosu, the Olupo of Ajase-Ipo and Chairman of the Irepodun Traditional Council, along with other respected monarchs.

Political leaders in attendance included Hon. Femi White, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Kwara State on Political Matters, Rear Admiral Azeez Afolayan, Hon. Dr. Adedayo Jim Sam, and Hon. AjuloOpin, both Members of the Federal House of Assembly.

Other notable figures included; Rear Admiral Azeez Bayo Afolayan Rtd, the Asiwaju of Oro Kingdom, Alhaji Taiye Mustapha, the Asoju Oba of Oro Kingdom, as well as renowned entertainers like Muka Ray, Madam Saje, Rukayat Lawal (Iya Ibadan), Musiliu Haruna Isola, Sefiu Alao, and Yinka Quadre, Otunba Biodun Ajiboye (Executive Secretary NICO), Lawyer Kunle Sulaiman, and several other prominent individuals also attended, adding glamour to the event.

In an exclusive interview with Crystals Media Empire (CME), the newly crowned Gbobaniyi, Chief Rasaq Hussein, shared his gratitude and vision for his new role. He said:

Chief Rasaq Hussein’s coronation as the Gbobaniyi of Oro Kingdom is a historic milestone for both the chief and the people of Oro.
